Iceland Tide Calculator

Tide timing changes what a coastal location gives you — and, at some locations, whether it’s safe to be there at all. At Reynisfjara, the wrong tide puts you closer to the surf than the sneaker wave warnings allow for. At Diamond Beach, low tide exposes more of the ice; high tide brings the waves crashing directly against it. At Vestrahorn, the reflective tidal pools that make the classic shot only appear within a narrow window around low water.

This calculator gives you high and low tide times for Iceland’s key coastal photography locations. Select your destination and date to plan a shoot around the tide, not against it — and to know, before you arrive, which conditions you’ll actually find.

All times are in Iceland Time (UTC, year-round — Iceland does not observe daylight saving time). Tide predictions are a planning aid, not a safety guarantee — always assess conditions on-site and never turn your back to the ocean.
