At Reynisfjara, the wrong tide puts you closer to the surf than the sneaker wave warnings allow for. At Diamond Beach, low tide exposes more of the ice; high tide brings the waves crashing directly against it. At Vestrahorn, the reflective tidal pools that make the classic shot only appear within a narrow window around low water.
